How the structure goes together

Y-FIX has three members: the pile driven into the ground (C or sigma section), the top chord that sets the module tilt between piles, and the purlins the modules bolt to. The pile is driven with a hydraulic rig to the depth set by the geotechnical report; on most soils no concrete footing is needed, which lowers both cost and installation time.

Every connection hole is punched on the roll-forming line. There is no drilling, cutting or welding on site — the crew aligns the pile, bolts the chord and purlins. That cuts the time per row and the risk of assembly error; holes landing in the same place across thousands of parts is what roll forming's repeatability buys you.

Engineered to the site

The same structure does not fit every site with the same section. Wind zone and snow load set the pile section, gauge and embedment; soil class sets driving depth and pull-out capacity; module size and 1V/2V layout set the purlin spacing. Every Y-FIX project therefore ships with its own static report — calculated to Eurocode 3 or ASCE 7, with sections and pile depths stated.

We verify the calculation with a pull-out test on site. The delivery package is the static report, general-arrangement drawings, bill of materials and installation manual — with the steel, from one source.

Why steel, why Zn-Al-Mg

A fixed-tilt array stands outdoors for 25–30 years with nothing to drive, power or service. Its only enemy is corrosion. On profiles we form from Zn-Al-Mg coated coil, the coating re-forms over sheared and punched edges — exactly where galvanizing leaves steel exposed. In salty, humid or agricultural environments that is the difference over the life of the plant.

Frequently asked questions

Fixed-tilt or tracker — which should I choose?

A fixed-tilt array costs less and needs no maintenance; a tracker yields roughly 15–25% more energy on the same site but brings motors, controls and O&M. The choice depends on latitude, land cost and your electricity price. We manufacture the steel package for both — once you decide, we size the sections to your site loads.

Zn-Al-Mg or hot-dip galvanized for solar steel?

For 25+ years outdoors we recommend Zn-Al-Mg (ZM / Magnelis-type) coating: it self-heals at sheared and punched edges, lasts markedly longer than galvanizing in salty or humid (C4–C5) environments, and because it is formed from pre-coated coil there is no post-galvanizing bath. Hot-dip galvanized (HDG) is available where specified.

What engineering documents come with the system?

A static report to Eurocode or ASCE 7, general-arrangement drawings and bill of materials, pile pull-out test results and an installation manual — all from the same plant in Kayseri, shipped with the steel.

Yes — we ship from Kayseri to Europe, the Middle East and North America, organising truck or container loading, packing and documentation. With capacity above 2,500 tons a month we serve utility-scale projects on plannable schedules; a firm date is given at quotation.
